The review of exemplary practices has focused primarily on other UC campuses. A major advantage of reviewing best practices of other UC campuses is that systems and practices can often be "imported" with little expense, delay, or modification. In addition, since site visits are normally required in order to fully understand another campus' practices in detail, UC campuses offer the advantage of economical travel. Data from the NACUBO Benchmarking Project enable discovery and analysis of best practices at other, non-UC, campuses.
Exemplary Practices Site Visits
1998 "exemplary practices" site-visits are summarized below. Most of these reviews resulted in "importation" of a system, an innovation, a streamlined process, or insights that led to modifications in our own process improvement plans.
