This presentation: Overview of a 13 year program… Started when Jack Peltason (then UCI Chancellor) asked me in 1991 to put into place a program to reduce bureaucracy -- partly in anticipation of budget cuts, and partly because Jack understood the tendency of bureaucracy to increase as an institution grows. Functions I’ll be talking about: Accounting, Administrative Information Systems & Computing, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, Procurement, Police …in other words, typical core business services functions at any UC campus All the data and examples I show you will pertain to these functions. <
